A program for pilots, middle and upper level managers, and program developers. By concentrating on individual strengths,
company leaders brainstorm techniques to develop their own leadership and human factors skills. The principal outcome is
a distinctive Human Factors Model that becomes the keystone of all human factors training and checking within the company.
From this foundation, managers and pilots collaboratively develop methods for coordinating and solidifying their efforts
to meet the company's immediate and future challenges. This instruction may be accomplished in a workshop format.
APPLIED HUMAN FACTORS:
The course is for training developers and operations managers. A survey of human factors research will clarify many issues.
The course will provide skills to filter through the profusion of information; to discover issues and subjects that are relevant
to the organization; and to learn practical ways to apply good science to real world issues of that company's daily operations.
The course is especially useful for organizations that have not yet reached an accord with their constituents on the elements
of the Corporate Human Factors Model. This instruction may be accomplished in a workshop format.
INCIDENT INVESTIGATION:
Human Factors training is established on the principle that Human Factors skills can prevent incidents and accidents. For
this principle to be effective, the characteristic culture and flight environment must be clearly understood. This program
develops methods for gathering data about normal and abnormal events in daily operations and integrating this information
into simulator and in classroom training programs. It also develops skills for facilitating non-jeopardy debriefs of flight
crews who are involved in a situation that should be examined. This instruction may be accomplished in a workshop format.
CRITICAL INCIDENT STRESS MANAGEMENT (CISM):
CISM is a complete system of pre-incident education, individual stress management, and crisis intervention to mitigate the
impact of a traumatic event. The course provides chief pilots and front line managers guidance on recognizing situations
that may trigger critical incident stress. By connecting risk assessment with insights from experienced mental health professionals
attendees will practice defusings and debriefings with real life scenarios. This instruction may be accomplished in a workshop
format.
