FACILITATION FUNDAMENTALS COURSE:

A course for new instructors to develop facilitation skills. Some potential topics are: Facilitation - The Art of Teaching Adults; Debriefing Procedures and Skills; Evaluating Human Factors Skills; Handling Inadequate Human Factors Performance. The course includes many opportunities to practice facilitation skills and to develop through feedback derived from self-analysis of videotaped performance. This instruction is accomplished primarily in a classroom setting.

ADVANCED FACILITATION COURSE (AFC):

A course for senior training managers, senior examiners, and RETREs who are involved with assessing and developing instructor and examiner facilitation skills. The aims of the course are: a) to improve understanding and skills of facilitation for delegates; b) to introduce FSAT (Facilitation Skills Assessment Tool; so delegates can learn to assess and develop training pilots; c) to learn how to develop facilitation skills in training pilots when they have weak areas; and d) to increase delegate's practical knowledge of Assessment and Program Evaluation. This instruction is accomplished in an interactive workshop with demonstrated and practice facilitation and facilitation assessment.

FACILITATION REFRESHER COURSE:

The course is a yearly requirement for human factors trainers and evaluators. The course content varies from year to year under three general topics: review of instruction fundamentals, practicing facilitation skills, and introducing the annual special emphasis items. This instruction may be accomplished in the classroom, on-line, or by a facilitator refresher video.
