MaryJo O. Smith Ph.D.

Dr. MaryJo O. Smith received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Evaluation, Statistics, and Research Design from the University of Minnesota in 1999. She has a Master of Education degree in Adult, Higher, and Community Education from Montana State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Administrative Management Sciences and Economics from Carnegie-Mellon University. Since 1999, MaryJo has been the Senior Research Scientist and co-founder of Ypsilon Associates. She specializes in Evaluation, Statistics, and Research Design. Additionally, MaryJo is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. For fourteen years, she worked in the computer field, from programmer to director of data processing. Her varied background allows her to think holistically thereby allowing the programs that she supports to grow in areas that are important to their organization.

MaryJo is the CEO and Senior Research Scientist of Ypsilon Associates.

Guy M. Smith Ed.D.

Dr. Guy Smith received a Doctorate in Adult and Higher Education from Montana State University, an MA in Human Development and Management from Salve Regina University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. He is a Professor Emeritus at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Guy completed a 21-year US Navy career as Mission Commander on the S-3A Viking, was Lead Engineer on the F/A-18 Hornet at McDonnell-Douglas, and managed Human Factors training for instructors at Northwest Airlines. Guy conducts facilitation workshops for airline instructors. With R. Key Dismukes of NASA Ames Research Center, he co-edited the book, "Facilitation and Debriefing in Aviation Training and Operations."

Capt. Colin Budenberg

 

Captain Budenberg is the sole proprietor and senior flight instructor of CB TRAINING, a civil aviation training company. Colin was a Manager of Training Captain Standards & a Senior Examiner with Thomson Airways.  For 24 years he has been flying the 757 / 767 aircraft for them and for 29 years he has been continually involved with training and examining. Colin is best known for his creative work in designing training programs that are thought provoking and involving. He is a specialist in developing Instructor Pilots especially in the field of Facilitation. He developed the Human Factors Behavioural Marker Systems both for pilots and instructors that are used in Thomsonfly and with other airlines across Europe. He was recognized with an award from the Royal Aeronautical Society for his contribution to Human Factors Training.
